Cruising Asia: Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas

This is M&M here and I am going to tell you about my family's adventure on the Royal Caribbean: Voyager of the Seas Cruise. The cruise had so many things to do. It had mini golf, pools, outdoor big screen movies, an all you could eat buffet, Disney character parade, tons of shows, and a couple other things to do including my favorite, the rock wall! The cruise had a Kids club, so Mom and Dad signed me, Little A, and Monster up. I only went sometimes because there was so many other things to do all over the cruise. One day, Mom and Dad allowed me and Big sis to have a day to ourselves. We went to one of our favorite eating places called Cafe Promenade. We ate fruit sticks in cups. Big Sis got a cup of watermelon sticks and I got a cup of pineapple sticks.  After that we planned to go to the rock wall with a couple of our other friends that were on the cruise.  But we saw that it was closed for the day, so our backup plan was to get our swimsuits on and have fun in the hot tub while watching some try-not-to-laugh challenges on the big screen. That was exactly what we did. We had so much fun that day! Another day, we saw an ice skating show. It was absolutely AMAZING! There were so many tricks that were absolutely breath taking. Every night, there would be a big screen movie. In the afternoon, around 5-7, there would be a kids movie. Like Wreck-it-Ralph breaks the internet. In the night, around 7-9, there would be grown-up movies, like Venom and Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, The crimes of Grindelwald.

There was free ice cream machines. We had about 10 cones every day. It was so fun. I will always love and miss being on that cruise.

Heather here to take over.  Most of our cruise was spent in port.  Each port day we went out for an adventure of exploring (posts that follow), but we had our evenings and one full day of sailing to enjoy what the cruise ship had to offer.  We were so sad we didn't get to do everything on board.  There just wasn't enough time.  On our first day we enjoyed a Dream Works Parade.  The kids loved seeing all their favorite characters.

We were so glad they loved the characters because later in the week we had a character breakfast with some of the characters from the parade.  The kids enjoyed seeing Shrek and Alex the Lion.  Monster was a little hesitant, but enjoyed seeing them as long as Kevin or I was with him.

One of the nights, the ship had a free family arcade night.  We met up with most of our cruise crew and played games for a few hours.  The car racing games were a favorite.  The only problem with offering a free arcade night on the first night, was that Monster then asked almost every day if we could go play the games.  To play one game was around $3 a game.  Yikes!  They sure know how to squeeze money out of you.

The Voyages of the Sea had a fantastic swimming pool.  Almost every day after our land excursions, we would suit up and spend a few hours by the pool.  The kids especially loved the hot tub, as M&M mentioned.  It wasn't too hot, but they loved that they could swim around and touch the floor.

Without fail we would always see friends at the pool.  The weather was perfect and the pool temperature couldn't get any better.  We came from super bad air quality and a cold Korea, so soaking up the sun was such a relaxing way to spend our time.

The Voyager of the Sea also has a rock wall.  We went to the rock wall almost every day.  There were three courses for the rock wall, an easy, medium and hard.  It was Big Sis and M&M's goal to get up the hard course.

I didn't think Little A would be able to make it up the rock wall, but she surprised me and not only made it up, but did it without difficulty and even was able to ring the bell.  I was so very proud of her.

I even went on the rock wall a few of the days.  Big Sis and M&M would try to race me up the wall.  I would win, then one of them would win.  It was fun to make it up and ring the bell as a victory sound.

There was also a miniature golf course on the top deck.  While Kevin went to a sushi making class with the guys, I dropped off Little A and M&M at the kids Club and took Big Sis and Monster golfing.  It was Monsters first time trying to golf.  He made me laugh so hard.  I showed him how to golf, then he was insistent that "I do it", so I let him try.  After a few unsuccessful minutes of trying, he finally just picked up the ball and chucked it at the hole.  So funny!

Big Sis and I kept playing while Monster went around the course alternating between throwing his ball at the holes and using his club as a weapon trying to take me and Big Sis out.  We only made it to the 7th hole before we had to call the game due to violence.

It's not a true cruise unless you play shuffleboard.  After the kids went to bed, we left Big Sis babysitting and made our way around the ship in search of the shuffle board.  We ended up meeting up with Holly and Tyler and playing shuffleboard for a few hours.  It was fun to learn the rules and attempt to pretend to be good at it.  I actually really loved playing it!  I always imagine shuffleboard as an elderly game, so either I am seriously getting old, or the game really is fun.

The cruise had some great food.  When we first signed up we were super worried because we got an email stating that it is a cultural cruise.  We were worried there wouldn't be food for the kids.  We didn't need to worry at all because the food was great.  We only ate in the dinning hall a few times, we mostly ate at the Windjammer buffet.  The dining room had more of the cultural food, but the buffet had all the amazing and delicious cruise foods you dream of.  The kids, including Monster ate great every single day.

We did eat in the dining room for the formal night.  All our little princesses were so excited to get dressed up and eat all fancy like.  They loved having the glass flutes and having a waiter to bring them fancy looking food.

We decided that we would spend the formal night as a family.  The others from the cruise all put their kids in the kids club and had a kids-free night, but our kids had brought dresses and were super excited to get dressed up.  We did see all our peeps as we finished eating.  We were able to get a fantastic group picture!

Our cruise friends: Holly & Tyler Rust, Kevin & Heather Rasmussen (us), Ruth & Chris Strommer, Alesha & Randy Jones, Corianne & Dustin Schwartz
The kids club had more than just child care, every day they would offer family classes.  There were not many kids on this cruise.  In fact, most of the kids were just from our cruise crew.  We went to a few of the family activities.  One activity was to make your own slime.  The kids all made slime then used straws to blow the slime into a slime balloon.  They got a kick out of that.

Last but not least, we can't forget the towel animals.  Every evening when it was time to go back to our rooms and get ready for bed, the kids would run down the hall to our rooms.  Monster would yell, "What's our animal today?"  They would burst into the room and search for the towel animal then spend the next few minutes Ohhing and Awwing over it.  It was so cute to see them so excited about something so little.
